Ten World Questions to ask your next Character
Using character prompts is a creative and effective way to develop well-rounded and engaging characters in any storytelling context, including tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs). Knowing your Character before the first dice is rolled is a rewarding experience. It encourages the exploration of unique quirks, motivations, and backstories that may have yet to be initially considered. We aim to foster creativity and seek depth as we build our storytelling skills.
This prompt looks at one of the three core areas in this series: Environmental drives.
There are tons of ways your Character engages with the world around them. How they do this reflects who they are, what they value, what parts of the world they may range from, and their experience over time. Consider these ten questions as you build a new character or apply them to existing characters to draw in new layers of depth.
