Ten Weather Questions to ask your next Character
Using character prompts is a creative and effective way to develop well-rounded and engaging characters in any storytelling context, including tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs). Knowing your character before the first dice is rolled is a rewarding experience. It encourages the exploration of unique quirks, motivations, and backstories that may not have been initially considered. As we build our storytelling skills, we aim to foster creativity and seek depth.
This prompt looks at one of the two core areas in this series: Personal drives.
Weather is not just planning for a bit of rain; weather often is a common element a character engages with and thematically a reflection of a character's emotional state, a tether to a distant memory, or to overcome an obstacle ahead. Nature versus Nature: weather can tell a lot about our characters.
